Monday was a sad day in America for many of us! Even sadder than a Tuesday back in November! Monday sealed the deal and awarded us with the official election of Donald J Trump. I’m not happy about this decision at all but I knew it was inevitable.
On the bright side; 2017 is a new year. For many 2016 was a horrible year and I agree. 2016 had to be the year that the most celebrities passed away. We lost Prince (tears), David Bowie, Natalie Cole and countless others.
I never want to expect or cement a bad year especially when 2017 hasn’t even arrived yet. I refuse to let our government make my life miserable and I will create my own happiness. I am in charge of that; we are in charge of our own happiness. Beside, it is important for us to remember that the President doesn’t have complete control over everything. And we will fight him just like many fought President Obama. Trump is NOT MY PRESIDENT!
Enough about that because it can go on all day. I don’t subscribe to resolutions because in many cases they don’t stick or solidify. What I will do is look forward to what 2017 has in store for my family and I know what my plans are for next year and I only see positivity coming my way. At least that is what I have embraced and will continue to encourage others to embrace. Our peace of mind depends on it.
I found this Commit 30 planner online somewhere and I think they are pretty neat. The planner provides you with tools to commit to something every 30 days. You don’t have to necessarily use it in this way, but I think it would be helpful if you are trying to stay on track or reach a goal. I plan to start seriously using this planner next year. I guess in a way I do have somewhat of a resolution! Getting more organized, getting my finances on track and being more healthy are my goals for the next year and beyond. To join me in my Commit 30 Challenges check out the details here!
At this point I am over 2016 and ready for 2017 to come in all it’s glory. It’s going to be a great year; I’m claiming it!
Oh and Happy Winter Solstice 2016!
What are you looking forward to in 2017?
